RBC Wealth Management — U.S. Uses Salesforce Platform Low-Code Technology to Streamline Digital Financial Services

Quick take: RBC Wealth Management — U.S. tapped into Salesforce Platform’s low-code tools to scale digital services for more than 2,100 financial advisors in 180 locations across 42 states. The tools streamlined processes for more personalized client experiences and integrated data from legacy systems into a unified, purpose-built wealth management platform that provides advisors with a 360-degree view of every client.

What’s the impact: With low-code tools like Salesforce Flow, RBC Wealth Management — U.S.’ operations transformed the traditionally time-intensive process of opening new wealth management accounts for clients into a seamless digital experience. The client onboarding process used to take several weeks and required clients to sign more than 100 pages of physical documents. With Salesforce’s workflow automation tools, it was shortened to an average of just 24 minutes.

Driving the news: Before turning to Salesforce Platform, RBC Wealth Management — U.S.’ advisors utilized 26 siloed legacy systems to manage client portfolios, making it extremely labor-intensive to access client data. To better service digital-first clients, the company needed a solution that could integrate data into one platform to streamline the client experience and provide advisors a 360 degree view of their clients.

RBC Wealth Management — U.S. used MuleSoft to better understand clients’ financial needs, quickly unlocking data across disparate systems by connecting apps and automating integrations. They also used purpose-built capabilities from Financial Services Cloud to unite client data into a single system to help advisors grow and manage their book of business and serve as a single source of truth across advisors, operations, back office and compliance risk. And by using Salesforce Platform tools, the company was able to customize workflows, automate processes, and quickly unify data in a single platform — helping them better scale their business. With these new low-code capabilities, advisors now have an integrated app with access to relevant, personalized information to better understand and serve clients.

What they’re saying:

Greg Beltzer, Head of Technology, RBC Wealth Management — U.S., said:

  • “Data from our clients is crucial for our advisors to deliver more meaningful interactions. Salesforce’s low-code tools maximize efficiencies for our advisors, provide a unified view of client portfolios, and ultimately allow advisors to spend more time with clients.”
  • “Using Salesforce’s low-code tools we’ve been able to transform time-intensive processes that impact both clients and employees into automated workflows that can be completed with just a few clicks.”
  • “Previous technologies would take months, or even years, to develop and bring to market. With Salesforce, we were able to deploy a solution within weeks. In today’s quickly evolving environment, that is truly incredible not only for our clients, but for our advisors as well.”
